Remote Deposit Capture
Remote Deposit Capture is a service that electronically submits your business’ bank deposits using a bank provided desktop scanner. It eliminates the need for regular trips to the bank by allowing you to simply scan the checks that you would normally take to the bank for deposit. The scanned checks are then securely sent to us electronically for processing.
Why Choose Remote Deposit Capture?
Remote Deposit Capture can help you create efficiencies and increase cash flow.
- Deposits made before 5:00 PM EST are credited the same day with next day availability.
- No need for deposit tickets - reduced manual effort and increased quality of deposit preparation saves overhead.
- Eliminates the cost and liability of regular trips to the bank to deposit checks.
How Do I Get Started?
1. Let us know how you plan to use the scanner
- How often will you be making remote deposits (daily, weekly, etc.)?
- How many checks do you anticipate scanning in this time frame?
- How much do you estimate the total dollar amount each deposit?
- Which account(s) will the checks be deposited into?
2. We will use the provided information to prepare the Remote Deposit Capture agreement for your business. Once it has been completed, we will call you in to go over the prepared agreement, you'll sign and provide contact information for the individuals who are authorized to use the scanner.
3. We will schedule a date and time for someone from our IT team to come to your business to verify you have the appropriate hardware and security, set up your scanner, and give a basic training to the employees who will be completing the remote deposits.

ACH Origination
ACH Origination is when a business initiates electronic payment to or from multiple people or businesses at one time and the funds are directly deposited or withdrawn from their account. Each group of people that money is distributed to or from at one time is considered a "batch".
Some examples include:
- Payroll
- Employee reimbursements
- Vendor payments
How does it work?
Step 1: Let Us Know
- Who you are planning to pay or pull payments from via ACH?
- How many people?
- An estimate of how much and how often (once a month, once a week, etc.).
Step 2: Approval & Agreements
The requested activity is reviewed and approved by a loan officer. ACH agreements are prepared accordingly. If you are withdrawing payment from others (for membership fees, etc.), you will need to obtain proper authorization. Sample authorization forms are provided in the ACH agreement.

Step 3: Upload a File of ACH Transactions
Once the signed ACH agreement is received, ACH Origination is added to your Online Banking under the Cash Management Tab and we set up your security token. You upload a file with the ACH batch details by 3:00 p.m. two days prior to when the items should be paid (Example – if you want expenses reimbursed on Friday, you would need to submit and verify the batch by 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday). This can be a NACHA file exported from your accounting system, an excel spreadsheet, or manually typed entries (one time) set up to be recurring.

Positive Pay
If check fraud keeps you up at night, then Positive Pay may be a good option to consider for your business. Positive Pay is a check reconciliation service available through our online banking platform that compares your business’ issued checks with your daily in-clearing checks and notifies you if there are any discrepancies. This optional service provides a strong defense against check fraud.
How does Positive Pay work?
- Your company imports a file containing the checks issued prior to distributing
- The checks are compared against your company file looking for a match in check serial numbers and amounts
- Checks that do not match become suspect and are manually examined for encoding or misread errors
- Suspect checks are reported to your company online and the company advises us how to proceed (pay or not pay)
Additional fees may apply with this service. Contact us to sign up or learn more about Positive Pay: 478-374-3418
Wire Transfer
If you need to securely send funds to another person or business quickly, a wire transfer¹ may be a good option. Wire transfers allow you to move money electronically from one person to another, domestically or internationally, directly from your account to their account. To initiate a wire transfer from your Magnolia State Bank account, contact your local branch.
¹Additional fees may apply for wire transfer services.
EMV MasterMoney Debit Card
With Magnolia State Bank’s EMV MasterMoney™ Card, paying for the things you want and need just got a whole lot easier. The EMV MasterMoney™ Card, which bears the MasterCard® symbol, is a “debit” card – a card you use like a check for your purchases.
With your EMV MasterMoney™ Card, the funds are automatically deducted from your checking account, eliminating the need to use cash, to charge, or to write checks! And since MasterCard® is accepted at more than 12 million locations worldwide, your card can be used to shop, eat, travel, buy a concert ticket, go to the dentist... whatever!
MasterMoney™ shopping is safer than cash and simpler than checks! It has all the benefits of using a credit card without a credit card statement at the end of the month. Your EMV MasterMoney™ debit card is also usable at an ATM to withdraw cash when you need it. So, if you don’t already have an EMV MasterMoney™ Card, drop by your closest Magnolia State Bank branch today.
This new card available from Magnolia State Bank provides you with an enhanced level of security. Every time you use your card at a chip-enabled terminal, the embedded chip generates a one-time use code which is virtually impossible to duplicate and helps in reducing card not present fraud, the most prevalent type of fraud in the United States. When using your card at a merchant that has a chip-enabled terminal, simply insert your card into the terminal with the chip facing up when prompted to pay and leave it in place until the transaction is complete and the terminal prompts you to remove your card. You may be asked to input your pin during the transaction or to sign your receipt afterwards, this will depend on the merchant. If the merchant does not yet accept chip-enabled cards, simply swipe your card as you normally would and complete your transaction. You have all the same benefits and security of our previous cards with an additional layer of security to give you more peace of mind when it comes to your everyday purchases at a chip-enabled terminal. For your convenience, you will find below a three-step guide to how to use your new EMV chip card.
PLEASE NOTE: There is a cross border charge for any debit transactions performed in another country. Please see your CSR or review your statement for more details.
To report a lost or stolen debit card, call 1-800-500-1044 or your local branch.
